May 12, 2005 (Shrewsbury,
NJ) - Anthony Migliaccio will hold a major art exhibition, his
first one-man show in over 20 years,
titled "Scenes in the Moment" at the Guild of Creative
Art from May 28th through June 29, 2005. An opening reception will
be held on Sunday, June 5th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
"Scenes in the Moment" is a collection of Plein air
paintings inspired by landscape scenes in Italy, France and Sandy
Hook, NJ. After receiving a Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation Fellowship,
Migliaccio traveled to the Cinque Terre on the Italian Riviera
and Aix En Provence, Arles and Avignon in the South of France to
paint in the tradition of the Impressionists, and in some of the
same locations as Paul Cezanne.
Migliaccio has exhibited his artwork for over 35 years on the
local and national level, and is presently an art educator and
a former fine art gallery owner. To his credit, Migliaccio has
served as president of state organizations, including the Art Administrators
of New Jersey, the Art Educators of New Jersey and the Alliance
for Arts Education of New Jersey. He was appointed by NJ Governor
Whitman to the Board of Directors of the New Jersey School of the
Arts.
The Guild of Creative Art is located at 620 Broad Street, Highway
35 in Shrewsbury (opposite The Grove) and is open Monday through
Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Tel: 732.741.1441).
